Encontro de fãs
Selvagens, é com empolgação que convido vocês a participarem do primeiro encontro de fãs do Head up High. Normalmente encontramos a galera em shows, então que tal um dia com um novo foco? Conhecer pessoas novas, reencontrar pessoas antigas. Um dia bem divertido, com música, (alguém tem violão?) risadas, fotos (o flash é permitido, e todas serão utilizadas no site), sorteio de cards e claro, comida.

Não vou especificar o que cada um precisa levar, mas não é legal ficarmos apenas em torno da cerveja. 😛 No decorrer dos dias, conversaremos a respeito, ok? Por enquanto é isso.

Ruben Wijga – Interview

Muito obrigada, Ruben!

1. Antes de tudo: O que as músicas Sweet Curse e Distorted Lullabies representam pra você? Existe algum tipo de relação entre as duas? E como você se sentiu tocando novamente I Lost Myself?

Ruben Wijga: Ambas as músicas são baladas tocadas no piano. Mas, para mim, essa é a única ligação entre estas duas músicas. Antes de compormos “Distorted Lullabies”, já tínhamos a ideia de uma balada tocada no piano que tivesse uma espécie de “mudança brusca”. A “mudança brusca” acabou se tornando uma balada tocada no piano que, levemente, tornava-se uma música pesada e intensa.

Tocar “I Lost Myself” ao vivo é sempre algo especial. É a única música do ReVamp em que os outros membros não participam. Então, há apenas os vocais e o piano. Toda vez que tocamos essa música, surge uma atmosfera única no palco, assim como entre o pessoal da plateia.

2. Wild Card é um album concentual. Se comparado ao primeiro album, possui um peso bem maior. Como você ve o amadurecimento e a evolução do ReVamp, principalmente na sua participação nas mudanças tão visíveis em cada uma das músicas?
Ruben Wijga: Todos nós queríamos que o segundo álbum fosse mais pesado do que primeiro. Antes de começarmos a compor, nóz fizemos um painel semântico com as músicas que gostávamos. Ao ouvir as músicas do painel, eu percebi que tinha de criar uma sonoridade “própria” para este álbum no que dizia respeito aos arranjos de teclado a fim de torná-lo único e interessante. Já que eu gosto muito de música eletrônica, decidi utilizar esse tipo de som e arranjos de sintetizador no “Wild Card”.

3. Anos atrás, como foi o processo de integração ao ReVamp? Algo profissional, ou você já conhecia a Floor?
Ruben Wijga: Eu não conhecia a Floor ou o pessoal da banda pessoalmente quanto entrei para o ReVamp, com a exceção do Jord. Eu o conheço desde o colegial. Nós dirigíamos juntos para os testes e, no caso, ambos conseguimos entrar.

4. Quando você não está trabalhando com o ReVamp, quais são os tipos de projetos que você se dedica?
Ruben Wijga: Atualmente, trabalho com Joost van den Broek com uma certa frequência. Ele é produtor de diversas bandas e projetos bacanas e, geralmente, não tem tempo de fazer tudo por conta própria. O meu trabalho é escrever as partituras musicais para os músicos que estão gravando baseado na préprodução do Joost.
No ano passado, eu me juntei ao Christmas Metal Symphony. Neste ano, eu também farei algumas coisas nos bastidores, como a organização da orquestra.

5. Além do teclado e violino, que outro tipo de instrumento você toca, ou agrade, ou tenha vontade de aprender?
Ruben Wijga: Eu sei fazer algumas coisas simples no violão. 🙂 Antigamente, eu tocava baixo em alguns projetos. Até cheguei a tentar tocar baixo sem trastes por algum tempo.
Eu gostaria de aprender a tocar gaita cromática, assim como Stevie Wondero e Toots Thielemans. Eu adoro o som daquele instrumento. Eu também gostaria de aprender a tocar triângulo, mas acho que é aí já é demais pra mim. 😉

6. Poderia nos contar um pouco sobre sua rotina em turnê? Sabe-se que é difícil manter uma vida digamos que saudável quando se está na estrada. O que você faz para se cuidar, especialmente durante mudanças drásticas de tempo de um país para o outro?
Ruben Wijga: Eu como e bebo até me satisfazer, de forma moderada. Procuro me exercitar sempre que posso, durmo bem e procuro relaxar sempre que preciso. Então, não é nada muito especial, mas algo bem simples e dinâmico.

7. De repente, você começou a usar esse bigode peculiar e é visível a dedicação que você tem por ele. Quais são seus cuidados? hahaha’
Ruben Wijga: Eu o penteio algumas vezes ao dia (com um pente que ganhei de presente de certos fãs incríveis. Obrigado! haha) e passo um pouco de cera modeladora para preservar a forma.

8. Sobre os seus desenhos (que são lindos): Você os vê como uma paixão também ou apenas hobby?
Ruben Wijga: Obrigado! Eu comecei a desenhar há pouco tempo, então, por enquanto, eu os vejo apenas como um hobby ainda que eu seja apaixonado por eles. Eu adoraria passar mais tempo praticando a fim de melhorar, mas o dia só tem 24 horas…

9. Ainda sobre os seus desenhos: Já pensou na possibilidade de trabalhar na artwork do terceiro álbum do ReVamp?
Ruben Wijga: Na verdade, não. Há muitas pessoas que podem fazer artworks fantásticas e eu não sou uma delas. Eu gosto de desenhar, mas produzir uma artwork é algo completamente diferente. Eu acho que, por enquanto, vou continuar com o lápis (preto ou cinza) e o papel. 🙂

10. Qual é a sua melhor memória? Algo divertido ou até mesmo estranho sobre sua primeira vinda ao Brasil.
Ruben Wijga: As turnês norte-americana e sul-americana foram fantásticas! Foi a minha primeira vez fora da Europa, então só isso já foi algo especial. Eu adorei ver as Cataratas do Niágara, o Cristo Redentor e a cidade maia de Chichén Itzá.

Thank you, Ruben!

1. Before anything: What do the songs “Sweet Curse” and “Distorted Lullabies” represent to you? Are they related somehow? How did you feel playing “I Lost Myself” again?
Ruben Wijga: They’re both piano ballads of course, but for me that’s the only connection between these two songs. Before we wrote Distorted Lullabies we already had the idea of a piano ballad with a twist somehow. The twist turned out to be a piano ballad that smoothly develops into a heavy and massive song.
Playing I Lost Myself live is always special. It’s the only ReVamp song where the other guys don’t play. So only vocals and piano. Every time we play this song there’s an unique atmosphere on stage as well as in the audience.

2. WildCard is a concept album. When compared to the first album, we notice it is a lot heavier. How do you see ReVamp’s coming of age and evolution, specially when it comes to your musical contribution in the change of style we can clearly notice in each of the songs?
Ruben Wijga: Everyone of us wanted the second album to be heavier than the first album. Before we started the songwriting process we made a mood board with songs we liked. Listening to this mood board I realized I had to create an ‘own’ sound for this album concerning the keyboard parts to make it an interesting and unique album . Since I like electronic music a lot, I decided to use that kind of sounds and synth parts for the Wild Card album.
For the orchestration part I didn’t want to make it too stereotype. I Like contemporary classical music a lot, and thought the tension, almost craziness, and atmosphere would suit some songs we wrote as well. For me, this was the perfect opportunity to make some interesting orchestra arrangements! Luckily the other guys and girl liked it as well 🙂

3. How what the process of joining members for ReVamp years ago? Was it something strictly professional or did you already know Floor?
Ruben Wijga: I didn’t know Floor and the guys personally when I joined ReVamp, except for Jord. I know him since high school. We drove together to the auditions, and both got the job.

4 . On which projects do you focus when you’re not working with ReVamp?
Ruben Wijga: I regularly work for Joost van den Broek these days. He produces a lot of cool bands and projects, and hasn’t always the time to do everything himself. My job is to make sheet music for the recording artists based on his preproduction.
Last year I joined the Christmas Metal Symphony. For this year I will also do some things behind the scenes, like the organization of the orchestra.

5. Besides playing violing and keyboard, is there any other instrument you play, enjoy or would like to learn how to play?
Ruben Wijga: I can do some basic stuff on an acoustic guitar 🙂 I played bass guitar for some projects in the past. I even had a fretless bass for a while.
I would like to learn to play a chromatic harmonica, like Stevie Wonder and Toots Thielemans. I love the sound of that instrument. I also would love to learn to play the triangle, but I think that’s far out of my league 😉

6. Could you tell us a bit more about your tour routine? It’s known that it’s hard to keep healty when you’re on the road. What do you do to take care of your health specially during a sudden change in the weather when you’re going from one country to another?
Ruben Wijga: Eat and drink decently and enough. Try to exercise when possible. Get enough sleep. And try to relax when possible. So nothing special, pretty straight forward.

7. All from sudden, you started using this peculiar moustache and it’s noticeable how caring you are about it. How do you take care of it? hahaha’
Ruben Wijga: I comb it a couple of times a day (with a comb I got as a present from some awesome fans, thanks!), and I put some wax / pomade in it to preserve the shape.

8. About your drawings and paintings (which are beautiful, by the way): do you seem them as a passion or are they just a hobby?
Ruben Wijga: Thanks! I just started to draw, so for now I see it just as a hobby, although I am very passionate about it. I would love to spend more time into it to get better. But there are only 24 hours in a day…

9. Still about your drawings and paintings: have you ever thought about the possibility of working on the artwork for the third ReVamp’s album?
Ruben Wijga: No, not at all. There are enough people who can make great artwork. And I’m not one of them. I like to draw, making artwork is a completely different thing. I think I will stick with graphite (black, grey) and paper for now 🙂

10. Do you have any memory you consider the best? Could it be anything funny, weird or related to the first time you’ve been to Brasil?
Ruben Wijga: The whole North and South America tour was a blast! It was my first time out of Europa, so that felt already special. I loved seeing the Niagara Falls, Christ the redeemer and the Chichen Itza Mayan temple city.

Espero que gostem, e ignorem também toda e qualquer tipo de falha existente afinal, não sou nenhuma profissional, mas realmente tentei. Matthias Landes – Interview

Muito OBRIGADA, Matthias!

Depois da turnê no Brasil, tivemos a oportunidade de entrevistar o Matthias – o homem por trás da incrível bateria do Revamp!

1. Por trás da bateria, quem é o Matthias Landes?
Matthias: Espero que seja o mesmo cara quando não está atrás da bateria, haha. Eu apenas amo tocar bateria, é o que eu faço, e é quem eu sou. Então eu não acho que eu mude muito ou tenha que agir certo “papel” como baterista.

2. Você realmente gosta da sua barba. Quais os seus cuidados?
Matthias: Escovando duas vezes no dia, ocasionalmente usando cera de bigode e sussurrando palavras de encorajamento para que ela cresça e seja uma barba feliz.

3. Bateria como sua paixão, quais foram suas maiores dificuldades?
Matthias: Não passar fome, haha. É um negócio complicado, e acho que pra mim a parte mais complicada é conseguir empregos fora da cena que eu costumo trabalhar (metal). As pessoas supõem que se você é conhecido por um gênero musical, essa é a única coisa que você faz. Mas já que eu amo a diversidade, eu tento arrumar shows tocando outras músicas também, e isso pode ser bem difícil.

4. Quais foram suas maiores referências e influências?
Matthias: Esta é uma pergunta difícil. Como baterista, provavelmente são caras como Stanton Moore, Steve Jordan, Jojo Mayer ou Benny Greb. Mas, é claro, eu também sou muito influenciado pelos meus professores do conservatório de Rotterdam, Hans Eijkenaar e Juan van Emmerloot. E eu também diria que as pessoas com quem eu toco também me influenciam. Então eu tenho várias influências, não só uma.

5. Como você se uniu a banda? Já conhecia os caras antes, ou foi algo estritamente profissional?
Matthias: Eu tive contato com a Floor através de um amigo em comum, Stef Broks (baterista da banda holandesa Textures) e ela me perguntou se eu queria fazer uma audição para a nova banda dela. Eu não poderia fazer a audição porque eu estava em turnê com Dark Fortess na época, então eu gravei um vídeo tocando as 3 músicas da audição (Head up High, Here’s my Hell e Kill Me with Silence) antes de sair em turnê. Aparentemente o que eu fiz foi bom, por que eu estou aqui, haha.

Além da audição por vídeo, eu encontrei a Floor no primeiro show da turnê com Dark Fortress, então nós pudemos conversar e ver se a gente se dava bem no nível pessoal também. Na verdade, eu nunca tinha visto o resto da banda até o primeiro ensaio e sessão de fotos, o que é meio bizarro, haha. Mas eu confiei na Floor e em suas decisões a respeito dos outros membros da banda, e deu tudo certo, por sorte todo mundo se deu bem com todo mundo… Bem, exceto pelo Ruben obviamente, já que ele toca teclado. Ninguém gosta de tecladistas … 😉

6. O que você sente durante um show, ao ver os fãs gritando, cantando, se entregando totalmente ao show?
Matthias: Escutar o quão animado o public está é incrível! Às vezes, como no Rio de Janeiro, é até assustador, porque não conseguia mais nem ouvir o que a gente estava tocando, hahaha.

Mas para ser honesto, às vezes eu não curto o show mesmo quando o público é bom, simplesmente porque eu estou tendo um dia ruim e toco mal pra cacete. Eu sou meu pior crítico, e às vezes isso acaba com a diversão. Mas bem, c’est la vie, creio eu…

7. Fora do ReVamp, quais são seus trabalhos/projetos?
Matthias: Eu toco em uma banda alemã de Black Metal chamada Dark Fortress desde 2001 bem antes do ReVamp. Nós vamos lançar nosso novo album “Venereal Dawn” dia 1º de setembro, então fiquem de olho.

Além disso, eu trabalho como técnico de bateria para outras bandas, como Rival Sons, Triptykon e também Sabaton ainda esse ano.

Eu tenho alguns planos para novos projetos e bandas, mas ainda é muito cedo para falar sobre isso.

8. Sabemos que a criação do Wild Card teve grande participação dos integrantes, representando de fato a união de todos vocês. Qual música é mais importante pra você?
Matthias: Poderia ser Limbic System ou Neurasthenia. Eu amo a energia e a atmosfera de ambas as canções, e o que Devin Townsend fez em Neurasthenia é simplesmente brilhante.

9. Como você vê essa “necessidade” de nós fãs de estarmos perto de nossos ídolos (fotografias, autógrafos, contato em si), que vai além de ir apenas em um show?
Matthias: Eu não tenho problema com isso, eu considero isso como parte do meu trabalho, por assim dizer. Eu particularmente não entendo o que há de tão especial em meu autógrafo, haha, mas é algo que é claramente importante para eles, então eu não me importo de autografar coisas ou tirar fotos. As vezes quando nós temos que correr e não temos tempo de interagir, a gente não consegue fazê-lo e eu espero que os fãs entendam. Nós somos apenas pessoas no fim das contas… 😉

10. Sobre a turnê do Sul, algo divertido ou até mesmo estranho ocorrido que poderia nos contar?
Matthias: Eu receio ser a pessoa errada para responder essa questão. Eu sou um dos mais chatos na banda, hahaha. Isso é algo que você deveria perguntar para os “Três Mosqueteiros”, também conhecidos como Arjan, Henk e Sam, nosso cara do som na turnê do Sul… 😉

11. Qual a maior loucura já feita durante um show?
Matthias: Durante um show? Nada, eu toco a música. Não existe tempo para palhaçada, isso é sobre entregar uma ótima performance e tocar o melhor que você puder. Pelo menos é como eu vejo isso.

12. Qual a melhor memória sobre sua passagem pelo Brasil?
Matthias: Bem, o show no Rio, porque foi o primeiro show do ReVamp na América do Sul e eu não sabia o que esperar, e me surpreendi agradavelmente.
A recepção calorosa das pessoas que conheci em todos os lugares, isso também foi muito legal.
E a comida, haha. Eu adoro comer boa comida, então beber uma caipirinha enquanto comia uma boa comida brasileira foi uma experiência muito boa também… 😉

After Revamp Brazilian Tour, we’ve had the opportunity of interviewing Matthias – the man behind Revamp’s kickass drums!

1. Who is Matthias Landes behind the drums?
Matthias: Hopefully the same guy as when not behind the drums, haha. I just love playing drums, that’s what I do, and that’s who I am. So I don’t think I change much, or have to act a certain “role” as a drummer.

2. How do you take care of your beard?
Matthias: Brushing twice a day, occasionally using mustache wax, and whispering words of encouragement for it to grow and be a happy beard.

3. How is the most difficulty of being a professional drummer?
Matthias: Not starving, haha. It’s a tricky business, and I think for me the trickiest part is to get jobs outside of the scene I usually work in (metal). People assume that if they know you for one genre of music, that’s the only thing you do. But since I love diversity, I try to get gigs playing other music as well, and that can be quite difficult.

4. Who is you biggest influence in music?
Matthias: That’s a tough question. As far as drummers go, right now it’s probably guys like Stanton Moore, Steve Jordan, Jojo Mayer or Benny Greb. But of course I also got very influenced by my teachers at the conservatory in Rotterdam, Hans Eijkenaar and Juan van Emmerloot. And the people I play with influence me as well I’d say, so really there are a lot of influences, not just one.

5. How have you joined the band? Had you met the guys before, or was it strictly professional?
Matthias: I got in contact with Floor through a mutual friend, Stef Broks (drummer of the Dutch band Textures), and she asked me if I wanted to do an audition for her new band. I couldn’t make the audition, because I was on tour with Dark Fortress at that time, so I recorded a video playing the three audition songs (Head Up High, Here’s My Hell and Kill Me With Silence) before I went on tour. Apparently what I did was good, cause here I am, haha.

Additionally to the video audition I met Floor at the first show of my tour with Dark Fortress, so we could talk and see if we’d get along on a personal level as well. I had never met the rest of the band before the first rehearsal and photoshoot actually, which was a bit weird, haha.

But I trusted Floor in her decisions concerning the other band members, and it turned out just fine, luckily everybody got along with everyone… Well, except for Ruben obviously, cause he plays keyboards. Nobody likes keyboarders… 😉

6. How do you feel during the show? Hearing the fans screaming and singing all the songs?
Matthias: Hearing how enthusiastic the crowd is is amazing of course. Sometimes, like in Rio de Janeiro, it’s even scary, cause I couldn’t hear what we were playing anymore, hahaha.
But to be honest, sometimes I don’t enjoy a show even when the crowd is good, just because I’m having a bad day and play like crap. I’m my own worst critic, and sometimes that kills the fun. But well, c’est la vie I guess…

7. Besides ReVamp, which are your works/projects?
Matthias: I play in a German black metal band called Dark Fortress, since 2001 already, long before ReVamp. We are going to release our new album “Venereal Dawn” on 1st of September, so check it out.
Other than that I work as a drumtech for other bands, like Rival Sons, Triptykon, and also Sabaton later this year.
I have some plans for new projects and bands right now, but it’s too early to talk about that.

8. We know that the creation of Wild Card has had a great participation of the band members, which has shown the union of all of you. Which of the songs is your favourite?
Matthias: That would be either Limbic System or Neurasthenia. I love the energy and atmosphere of both songs, and what Devin Townsend did on Neurasthenia is just brilliant.

9. How do you see this “need” some of us fans have to stay to near our idols (taking pics, getting autographs, having contact in general), which goes beyond attending a concert?
Matthias: I don’t have a problem with it, I consider it part of my job, so to speak. I personally don’t understand what’s so special about my autograph, haha, but it is something that is clearly important to them, so I don’t mind signing stuff or taking pics. Sometimes when we have to hurry and there is no time to hang out we can’t do it, and I hope that the fans understand that as well. We’re only people as well after all… 😉

10. About south american tour: was there anything fun or even strange that happened? Could you tell us?
Matthias: I’m afraid I’m the wrong person to answer that question, I’m the most boring one in the band, haha. That’s something you should ask the “Three Musketeers”, a.k.a. Arjan, Henk and Sam, our soundguy in South America… 😉

11. What’s the craziest thing you’ve done during a concert?
Matthias: During a show? Nothing, I play music. There is no time for bullshit, it’s about delivering a great performance, and playing the best you can. At least that’s how I see it.

12. What’s your best memory regarding your stay in Brasil?
Matthias: Well, the show in Rio, because it was the first show for ReVamp in South America, and I didn’t know what to expect, and was very pleasantly surprised.
The warm welcome of the people I met everywhere, that was very cool as well.
And the food, haha. I love eating good food, so sipping on a caipirinha while eating some nice brazilian food was a very nice experience as well… 😉

Review – ReVamp BRASIL

E finalmente, depois de um cancelamento e um longo tempo de espera, ReVamp esteve no Brasil. A turnê com direito a 6 shows (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Vitória da Conquista, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba e Porto Alegre) do qual foi marcante para muitos fãs, inclusive para a própria banda, de forma positiva como também negativa. Entre inúmeros problemas técnicos, alguns que por sua vez conseguiram ser resolvidos durante o show, encontros com fãs, etc…

A turnê se iniciou no Rio de Janeiro, dia 19 de maio. Do qual inúmeros fãs não tiveram do que reclamar. A banda por sua vez, foi bem recebida pelos fãs, e os fãs, é claro, tiveram um ótimo retorno também. Um setlist impecável contando com inúmeras faixas tanto do primeiro album ReVamp, como do último álbum recém- lançado entitulado Wild Card. Críticas extremamente positivas da parte dos fãs, tanto no quesito show, que não ficou a desejar, alcançando uma nota 10, como sobre os momentos em que todos membros do ReVamp passaram ao lado de seus fãs. Destaque para I Lost Myself, faixa que nenhum fã realmente esperava um dia ouví-la. Floor Jansen e seu alcance incrível, performance impecável e como sempre, uma ótima presença de palco, acompanhada de músicos incríveis que realmente amam aquilo que fazem. Cada interação memorável para inúmeros fãs.

And finally, after a canceling and a long wait, Revam has finally come to Brazil! The tour of 6 shows (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Vitória da Conquista, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba e Porto Alegre) which was a milestone for many fans, as well as the own band – both in positive and negative aspects, among many technical problems, some of which could be solved during the show, meetings with fans, etc.

The tour had started in Rio de Janeiro on may 19th, and the fans had nothing to complain. The band was well received by the fans, and the fans, of course, had it paid back. A flawless setlist with many tracks both from the first and second ReVamp albuns. The critics from the fans were extremely positive, both regarding the show – which scored a perfect 10 – and the moments where all the members spent beside the fans. We should highlight the performance of “I Lost Myself” – an unexxpected track. Floor Jansen, with her amazing range, flawless performance and – as usual – a great stage presence, followed by awesome musicians who relly love what they do. Each interaction was remarcable to many fans.

Após Rio de Janeiro, o show da vez foi São Paulo, 20 de maio. Em meio ao caos paulistano, atrasos de voos, resultando até mesmo no atraso da própria banda na casa de show, dificultando também a chegada de muitos fãs numa terça feira, o show teve a mesma repercussão do Rio de Janeiro. Uma noite incrível e inesquecível para muitos de nós. Incrível interação, todos os fãs cantando juntos, deixando transparecer cada uma de suas emoções, numa sincronia fantástica. (~~A propósito, muito obrigada pela fantástica surpresa em São Paulo!~~) Floor Jansen interagia de forma carinhosa com cada um de seus fãs, pegando cada um dos presentes. Depois do show ocorreu o M&G, do qual muitos fãs puderam estar frente a frente do ReVamp, conversar, e claro, tirar algumas fotos. Não terminou por aí, ao término do show, muitos ainda tiveram a oportunidade de encontrá-los no hotel, do qual foram muito bem recebidos pelo ReVamp também.

After Rio, it was São Paulo’s turn, on may 20th! Overcoming the Paulistan chaos and the flight delays – which not only delayed the band’s arrival but also turned the arrival of some fans from all over the country in a quest – the show had as many great reviews as Rio’s. It was such an amazing and unforgettable night to many of us.The interaction was great with many fans singing along, showing their emotions in a fantastic synchrony! (Btw, thanks A LOT for the pleasant surprise in São Paulo). Floor Jansen interacted nicely with each of her fans, taking every gift. After the show there was the M&G, where many fans could get to know the band, talk and – of course – take some pictures. And it’s not all: After the show, many also had the opportunity of meeting them at the hotel, where they were well received by the band.

A turnê seguiu para Vitória da Conquista, 21 de maio. Ressaltando por ser um grande evento internacional em 10 anos – se não me engano – . Apesar -também- dos problemas técnicos no início do show, inclusive atraso da banda de abertura (Maldita), obteve um bom público, e de acordo com fãs presentes, mesmo com problemas, a banda manteve a simpatia e interação durante o show.

The tour went on in Vitória da Conquista on may 21st – highlighted by the fact that it’s the first international event in 10 years – if I’m not mistaken. Besides the technical problems – as well as other things – at the beginning of the show, includind the delay of the opening band (Maldita), they had a good public and, acording to the fans there, the band overcame the problems and kept with the nice interaction at the show.

Após um dia de descanso, a turnê seguiu para Belo Horizonte, dia 23 de maio. Infelizmente onde alguns dos problemas começaram, especialmente sobre os flashes, e/ou até mesmo sobre o M&G, mas não iremos entrar neste assunto, não novamente. Alguns fãs tiveram a oportunidade de conhecer os membros da banda no M&G que ocorreu pouco antes do show. De qualquer forma, foi um show marcante afinal, além do setlist impecável, muitos fãs tiveram a chance de ouvir um clássico do After Forever, o eterno Energize-me. A platéia realmente foi a loucura, e interação também ocorreu como nos shows anteriores. Um destaque pessoal para a empolgação da maioria dos fãs em Here’s My Hell (Hear the time… tick, tick, tick.. Let me try, HERE’S MY HELL! ). E mesmo sem grade, o respeito dos fãs para com o ReVamp foi forte, assim como a interação dos membros para com os fãs!

After a day of rest, the band went to Belo Horizonte on day 23rd. Unfortunately, this is were some of the problems start, specially regarding the flashes and/or the M&G. however, we are not getting into that subject. Not again.Some fans had the oportunity of getting to know the band at the M&G right before the show. Anyway, it was a remarkable show because, besides the flawless setlist, the fans had the chance of listening to an After Forever classic: the eternal “Energize-Me”. The audience got literally crazy and interacted like the other shows. A personal highlight goes to the excitement of the fans during “Here’s My Hell” (Hear the time… tick, tick, tick.. Let me try, HERE’S MY HELL! ) And even right next to the stage, the respect from the fans to ReVamp was as strong as the great interaction between them and the band!

A penúltima parada do ReVamp, no dia 24 de maio, em Curitiba. (~~Que lugar frio, devo dizer, HAHA)~~ Inúmeros fãs apenas aguardando o show do ReVamp (ahvá), com abertura de uma excelente banda nacional: Semblant! Não fizeram por menos e fizeram um excelente show de abertura, compartilhando uma energia incrível, devo dizer. Logo após o ReVamp subiu ao palco, já avisando sobre os flashes. Em momento algum filmagens e/ou fotografias foram proibidas, exceto se fosse filmar o show completo, e fotografias sem flash para não atrapalhar o desenvolvimento da banda. Alguns problemas ocorreram, resultando numa crítica bem negativa sobre o ReVamp. Mas apesar dê, o show foi excelente com interação de ambos os lados, com direito também a Energize-me. Depois do show ocorreu o M&G também, do qual fora um tanto que positivo também. Ao menos muitos fãs tiveram a chance de tirar uma foto junto da banda. E claro, durante o dia, não podemos esquecer que alguns membros da banda também atenderam do lado de fora da casa. O show terminou com a típica foto que nós fãs realmente adoramos: A banda e a platéia. Sem esquecer que durante o show, Floor filmou partes do show para o vlog que foi divulgado posteriormente.

The next stop from ReVamp was on may 24th, in Curitiba – what a cold place! Brrrrr The fans waited for the show with an astonishing presentation from a Nacional band – Semblant! It was such an excelent opening show, sharing that amazing energy of them! Right after that, Revamp entered the stage, warning the audience about the flashes – the pictures/recordings were never forbidden – only recording the whole show, and pics with flashes would disturb the performance f the band. There were some problems, which resulted in an extremely negative picture of the band. However, besides these problems, the show was great with interaction from both sides and another great performance of “Energize-Me”. The show ended with the traditional picture that we – fans – love most: the band with the audience. After the show there was another M&G – which was pretty positive as well – at least sme fans could have their pictures taken with the band members. And, of course, during the day some band members interacted with the fan outside the showhouse. We also can’t forget that Floor also recorded some parts of the shows to the vlog that would be released later.

Última parada, ReVamp em Porto Alegre, dia 25 de maio. Todos já cientes sobre os problemas dos flashes, todos os fãs respeitaram o pedido, se é que foi necessário, destacando a surpresa para a banda, de levantarem folhas com os dizeres: ♪ Let your demons dance! ♪ na música Neurasthenia. Uma idéia bem criativa da parte dos fãs e realmente marcante para os fãs. Quem estava lá, pode conferir a surpresa especialmente da parte da Floor, e só devemos agradecê-los por isso. Ocorreu também um M&G, mas por alguma razão, o jantar com algum fã sortudo fora cancelado. E se alguém tem alguma dúvida sobre o show de Porto Alegre, segue a foto divulgada pela Floor em seu instagram.

Last stop: Revamp in Porto Alegre on may 25th! s they all knew about the problems regarding flashes, all the fans respected the request. It’s important to highlight the surprise they made to the band, when they lifted some sheets of paper saying: “Let your demons dance” during the song “Neurasthenia”. It was a really creative idea from the fans, and extremely remarcable for the band. Theones who were here cold see their surprise – specially Floor’s. Head up High: Ação e Reação

As coisas estão fugindo um pouco do controle, não? Então vamos lá.

Não, eu não sou uma bajuladora e tão pouco preciso disso, mas cabe a cada um ter sua própria interpretação, mas sinceramente, I dont’ mind.

1. Existe algum tipo de contrato do qual você compra ingresso de show que lhe dá direito de sair abraçando algum ídolo? Assim como você, Floor Jansen também é humana. Eu dúvido que você goste de ser tocado por um ser desconhecido na rua. Isso pra mim se chama carência. Se você mesmo não gosta disso, agora imagine uma única pessoa do qual inúmeras pessoas se unem para tentar a mesma coisa? Desculpe pela forma grosseira em utilizar a palavra carência, mas isso não é nem nunca foi nenhuma obrigação. E não adianta usar a expressão: Ah, mas outras vocalistas abraçam. Cada um é cada um. E cada um faz o que bem entender, e cabe a você fã, respeitar isso. Não vou ser hipócrita e falar que não compreendo o seu lado, mas eu particularmente sou adepta ao: Eu não te conheço, eu não tenho intimidade com você, então tire essa mão de cima de mim.

2. Sobre fotos e autógrafos: Ela nunca disse ser contra, pelo contrário, entende muito bem essa necessidade do fã estar perto do ídolo. Mas é o seguinte: Não é a todo momento em que eles se encontram dispostos a fazê-lo. Cabe a você respeitar. Eu fico realmente impressionada na capacidade de ninguém mencionar sobre o ocorrido antes do show no Rio de Janeiro. 3. Sobre reações e humor: Como já foi dito acima, ela é humana e não é todo dia que estamos dispostos a sorrir para todos. Caso não se lembrem, vamos lá: Alguns shows tiveram problemas técnicos. Se fosse apenas 1 show, era aceitável afinal, foi apenas um problema, mas agora uma sequência de PROBLEMAS, acho extremamente difícil se manter num humor razoavelmente feliz. Cabe a cada um saber respeitar também. Não digo que nós fãs sejamos culpados, mas também não tiro a culpa de ambos os lados. Cada parte da história teve sua parcela de culpa, e seria no mínimo coerente colocar na BALANÇA ambos os lados.

4. Flashs: Essa parte que realmente repercurtiu bastante. Sim, queremos registrar esse momento afinal, estávamos realmente esperando e MUITO por essa turnê, queríamos ter algum vídeo? Sim, quem nunca? Não tiro meu corpo dessa história por que eu Jéssica também estava fotografando, mas claro, sem flash. Sobre isso, todos os fãs foram avisados, e não foi de forma agressiva. Mas foram avisados 1, 2, 3 vezes … Entendam, errado ou não da parte do ReVamp, o que eles realmente QUEREM é nos ver curtindo, bangueando, cantando e não parados feito múmias apenas filmando algo. Fotos são bacanas? Sim, são. Vídeos são memoráveis? Sim, são. Mas não durante o show inteiro. Acredito que o peso maior sobre a turnê tenha sido o dar tapa em câmera/tirar câmera de fã/empurrar câmera de fã. Embora a atitude tenha sido radical, a intenção não era afrontar os fãs, mas direcioná-los ao foco central: CURTIR O SHOW. Não vou ser hipócrita e concordar com isso, mas cada ação gera uma reação.
NO FLASHES, NO FLASHES: Flashes de certa forma incomodam quem está em cima do palco, e se você nunca esteve em cima de um, não tem nem nunca terá autonomia para falar algo contra. EM NENHUM MOMENTO AS FILMAGENS E AS FOTOGRAFIAS FORAM PROIBIDAS, apenas a remoção de flashes e a filmagem FULL do show. Sério que você pagou um ingresso para ficar lá com o braço esticado e vendo sobre uma micro-tela? Sinceramente? Fique em casa e assista pelo Youtube.

Comentário pessoal: Sério mesmo que se ofenderam em Curitiba quando ela disse que você estava em um show do ReVamp? De fato, você estava no show de quem? Da Katy Perry eu acredito que não. Você pagou para assistir o ReVamp, você estava ali para ver ao vivo um trabalho que você já estava cansado de apenas ouvir no cd da sua casa. Você obviamente iria ouvir as músicas do ReVamp. Pedir por algo diferente é no mínimo non-sense. Ok, a grande maioria foi e ainda é fã de After Forever, muitos estiveram nos shows ocorridos no Brasil, mas alguns não tiveram essa chance, (eu sou um exemplo) e mesmo assim não foi motivo para pedir. Agora você diz que vocalista tal dá espaço para fã pedir música. Ok, legal, bacana, mas são pessoas e pessoas, e comparações são extremamente desnecessárias. Há quem pense o contrário, mas eles se dão MUITO para que tenhamos um show incrível, mesmo entre todos os problemas técnicos, nenhum deles desistiu. Estiveram ali o tempo inteiro, brincaram, interagiram.

5. Sobre Tour Diary: Não acho que seja obrigação do ReVamp fazê-lo, mas eles fazem por que mesmo? Não acho que eu precise responder. Obrigada. Entendo que muitos estejam decepcionados, mas tentem no mínimo se colocar do outro lado da história também, sabe? Erros todos nós cometemos, e continuo apertando a mesma tecla: Cada ação gera uma reação, e cada reação pode ser positiva ou negativa.

Ps: Floor Jansen não é essa pessoa que muitos pregam, isso eu posso garantir. Cada um tem seu mecanismo de defesa, cada um interpreta da forma que bem entender. Mas não se esqueçam de algo: Nunca cobrem algo do qual vocês também não fazem, é feio, sabia?

No mais, não se esqueçam que ela estará aqui com o Nightwish e dou minha cara a tapa, que os mesmos que andam falando bosta em rede, serão os primeiros a irem atrás dela novamente! 😉
